The painting we chose to comment on is called "Between Us" and on it there is a text saying: "then the stories begin...to tell themselves between us".
When I look at this picture I recall the times when I've felt a strong unity with another person, when it feels like if something we have in common inside us is controllig us. But hey, that's the truth! =D

Part two: Hinduism, Yoga and Philosophy
There are controversies regarding the somewhat tricky word "faith" (see the blog from monday, the 2nd of June, "Letter to the editor"). is faith only loose assumptions or is it about a strong conviction? If someone says "I know" this actually means that one has faith or trust in one's understanding, that one is convinced. Srila B.R. Shridhar Maharaj mentions in his book "Subjecive evolution of consciousness": "In the study of ontology it is taught that when studying a particular thing, although we can know that it has certain attributes to the eye, and that it appears to the ear in a particular way, these are all appearances. Independent of appearances, the ontological aspect of a thing - what it is, the reality of a thing - is unknown and unknowable." So we act on the platform of what and how we believe things to be. That's pretty simple when it's about things in our sensual world that we feel we can measure and control. But we are not always that enthusiastic about putting our trust in something that is beyond the reach of our senses, something we cannot even imagine or understand with our intelligence. I mean God. Sometimes one wishes one could believe in God, but one just can't. Then there is a solution, the gradual understanding of God, beginning with the acceptance of ones dependece on the nature, Mother Earth. The section below called "Vedic Wisdom" can be seen as a continuation of this article.

Vedic Wisdom, from Srila B.A. Paramadvaiti Maharaj
All souls are hoping to find love. Unlimited different attempts are made to fulfill the craving for love. And when the hope for fulfillment in love on the mundane platform disappears the soul opens the heart towards the possibilities of spiritual love.
Search and prayer will open our awareness to the invitations brought to us by the faith of other souls.
This is the ray of faith, which can penetrate deep inside of our heart, coming from the loving servant of the truth.
That is the OIDA moment -- when we have the conviction that a new dimension of reality is being discovered. You feel it. You are convinced. You know it. You believe it. It becomes your faith, your shining light on the path to get out of the darkness of selfishness -- the path towards healing. To heal ourselves means to give up the inclinations to be irresponsible in any way, to misuse our own bodyor to give trouble to other living beings.
Part three: Vegetarianism & Ecology
The monthly...
...Nimai-hero: Pamela Rice, who arranged a huge veggie-festival in New York earlier this year. Here is a quote which shows her spoonrevolutionary spirit: "When's the last time vegetarianism topped the list of subjects for the six o'clock news? ... Ultimately, why isn't our cause better understood by the general public? And why is it still okay to denigrate, slur, and malign vegetarians with impunity? When it gets down to it, these two questions are the acid test... We must not be doing enough..."
...slogan: Listen to your inner child, become vegetarian.

Choose organic and locally produced as much as possible. Thank Mother Earth for the food. =D
Baked Cauliflower
1 medium Cauliflower
2 Potatoes
Salt to taste
1 inch fresh Ginger
2 Tomatoes
3 Green Chillis
2 tsp Kalongi seeds
2 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Asofoetida
Ghee for frying
Clean a full cauliflower, removing the stems very near to the florets, but being careful not to break the florets. Place the cauliflower, floret side down, in a pressure cooker or steamer to boil. Do not boil so much that it makes the vegetable too soft. Should be cooked about ¾ through. In a little ghee fry the ginger, tomato, green chillies, kalonji seeds, cumin seeds and turmeric and blend together. Add the steamed cauliflower on a baking tray along with potatos cut like fries. Spread the fried mix over the florets evenly. Bake at 180 C. for about 30-45 minutes. When the florets turn brown and potatoes are soft, it's ready.

Målningen vi valt att kommentera heter "Between Us" och bildtexten lyder "then the stories begin...to tell themselves between us".

Srila Bhakti Rakshaka nämner i sin bok "Subjective evolution of consciousness": "In the study of ontology it is taught that when studying a particular thing, although we can know that it has certain attributes to the eye, and that it appears to the ear in a particular way, these are all appearances. Independent of appearances, the ontological aspect of a thing - what it is, the reality of a thing - is unknown and unknowable."
