English: The question wether the "midsummer pole (direct translation)" is a phallic symbol or not is debated. We are on the "yes it is"-side, because the pole is a symbol for fertility and I mean, look at it!
Speaking of phallic symbols, in India it is common to worship a phallus called Shiva lingam. Shiva lingam is the glance of Lord Vishnu (the one and only absolute God) and when he glances over the material energy he manifests the living entities there, so that they may come to meet their maker and love him.

På tal om fallos-symboler, i Indien är det vanligt att man dyrkar en fallos kallad Shiva lingam.
