Natures Hidden Teachers - Personalities Of The Trees

Tulasi - Ocimum tenuiflorum/sanctum

Nimaihusets favorite tree personality Srimati Tulasi devi!

Of all the plant teachers and sacred trees in this series Vrinda Devi is the most important for those of us practising Gaudiya Vaishnavism. All of our nonsense and sinful activities can be removed by her association, or even touching her… thankfully for us a gracefully simple act to achieve!!

Vedic Clock

See here for my latest toy; a clock with 25 arms, one for each unit of time listed in the Srimad Bhagavatam. It illustrates what a "Vedic clock" might look like, which pinpoints the current time from the lifespan of the universe down to a millisecond.

Prabhupada dictionary

Srila Prabhupada used some English words which have unfortunately fallen out of fashion these days. In order to understand his books better, I collected a list of words I was unsure about, and looked up definitions on merriam-webster.com and dictionary.com, choosing the ones which best fit the context in which Prabhupada used the words.

abide
to bear patiently; to endure without yielding; to wait for; to accept without objection

Fleamarket in GÃ¥rda

The temple-stand is exactly in the middle of the picture

The hipster-district GÃ¥rda where the temple is situated (or manifested) has 2 yearly low-key fleamarkets, quite popular (OK, they're the best in town), in the temple backyard. Hipsters, rave-kids, spiritual people, artists, and some normal people too, passing on various necessities of life to each other at low prices, and having a nice time in the outskirts of the temple energy to the sound of some cool music – this time a DJ selling the records he was playing, sometimes in the middle of a track. And we always serve prasadam – spiritualized vegetarian food. Some pictures from this year's autumn-"loppis":

Oida course

12 Thursday evenings this autumn, beginning the 14th September, there will be a course in Nimaihuset based on the small book Healing faith by Paul Soares, an introduction to Swami B.A. Paramadvaiti's Oida Therapy.
The subject is Nihilism and Oida. Nihilism as a little known, epochal, contemporary, global phenomenon. What it is, where it comes from, what its workings and expressions are, what the dangers and the possibilities are, and how to get through it – and this is where it meets with spirituality and the Oida Therapy of Swami BA Paramadvaiti. From the introduction of Healing faith:

The course is free of charge, but you need the book (20 SEK in Nimaihuset).
If you are interested, register for the course by sending an e-mail to nimai.arts@gmail.com

First four chapters can be read here:
