Saturday august 11 you are all very welcome to Nimaihuset to celebrate Janmastami - the (latest) appearance day of Sri Krishna! We begin at 5 p.m. 
There will be singing of bhajans, a lecture, sancitfied vegetarian food (prasadam) and more.
The party does not cost anything, but donations are welcome.

If you want to cook something for Krishna, let us now!

This blog has been quite slow for a while as Nimaihuset has been going on some stirring around in the pots. But that belongs to the past and now lets focus forward, lets focus on nowity. We want to share with you that our beloved Gurudeva made a visit some weeks ago and it was very ecstatic. He had just come from the Rio 20+ and was talking very much about the necessity of being aware of what is going on in the world today and more specific with the enviroment issue. This issue then again really contains every bit and piece that is considered problematic within the world and even more the human mentality today. It is not about having whatever political agenda, political agendas leads very much to the state of "banging-your-head-in-the-wall". To be aware what is going on in our global society is to take your duty as a responsible human being. We are brothers and sisters with each other counting in every bird, bee and river. Whatever pain we cause or allow others to cause, we do it to the man in the mirror. There is no such separation. To be aware is to be serious about our positions within the nowity or better said; eternity.

Gurudeva strongly urged us to see this documentary about the Belo Monte dam and the indigineuos people that have declared a war against the French and Brazilian goverments. Please watch, please share and please do your duty and be aware. Love is as love does and we are here to learn how to love each and everybody.

Vår lilla blogg har varit ganska så långsam ett tag pga en hel del röra runt i grytan som har skett på Nimaihuset. Men det tillhör dåtiden och vi ska väl ändå fokusera på det nutida. vi på Nimaihuset vill dela med oss av att vår kära, fina Gurudeva var på besök för någon vecka sedan vilket var otroligt extatiskt. Han hade precis varit på Rio 20+ och talade mycket om nödvändigheten i att vara medveten om vad som sker i världen idag. Mer specifikt frågan om klimatet som kan ses som summan av alla de delar i vår värld och mänskliga medvetande som är problematiska. Det handlar inte om att ha en politisk agenda för dessa agendor leder väldigt ofta till det där stadiet av "slå-skallen-i-väggen". Att vara medveten om vad som sker i vårt globala samhälle är att ta ens mänskliga ansvar. Vi är alla syskon medräknat fåglar, träden och vattendragen. Vilken som helst smärta vi skapar eller tillåter att skapas, gör vi också till den som möter oss i spegeln. Det finns ingen sådan separation. Så att vara medveten är att vara allvarlig gällande vår position i nuet eller bättre sagt; evigheten.

Gurudeva var mycket angelägen om att vi skulle ta oss tiden och se den här dokumentären om Belo Monte dammen och de urbefolkningsgrupperna som har deklarerat krig gentemot de franska och brasilianska regeringarna. Snälla ta dig tid och se, sprid och ta ditt ansvar och aktivt uppsök medvetande om vad som sker på vår jord. Kärlek är vad kärlek gör och vi är här för att lära oss att älska varje liten individ.

Gyllene Fullmåne! Golden Fullmoon!

Det våras för en svängig Nimaifestival som firar självaste Nimais födelse och passar på att välkomna våren! Kvällen till ära blir det jazzig indisk raga med toner från svensk folkmusik av Indiska Trion och Ananda Karaszi och klassisk santur med Behzad Ranjbari.

Det blir även gemensam bhajan, föreläsning och en läcker vegetarisk festmåltid.

Festen kostar ingenting, men lämna gärna en donation för maten.

Nimaihuset celebrates the birth of Nimai and welcomes the spring with the party of the year! You are invited to participate in an evening filled with music, bhajan, transcendental vibes and vegetarian delights. We are very proud to present Indiska Trion that will play Indian raga with tunes from swedish folklore together with Ananda Karaszi on sitar. Also Behzad ranjbari is playing classical santur.

The party does not cost anything, but you are welcome to leave a donation for the food.

The kidnapping of a sacred river

"Maybe I did drink the ocean of halahal poison,
but this Yamuna water is much too dangerous for me. Sorry."

India is unfortunatly known for its corruption among politicians and officials. This fact together with corporate greed has led to the killing of Indias sacred heritage. But due to alot of work done by sadhus, locals, environmentlists and politicians to protect River Yamuna the Indian parliament has awakened to the plea for the sacred river. The issue has reached the major TV stations where a 3 hour debate was held where members of the Indian parliament questioned the government what they will do about the river that has been declared "dead" by the Ecological department of India.

The fact is that even though Yamuna emerges completly clean in Yamunotri there is nothing left of her original water when she finally reaches Vrindavan. This is due to an irrigation dam in Harayana that basicly holds back 85% of her waters, while Delhi dumps 3.6 billion litres of city sewage and industrial waste into her EVERY DAY. In this way we can understand that the Yamuna we see in Vrindavan is not the Yamuna that Lord Krishna was bathing in 5000 years ago, she is kept hostage in Harayana and the small percentage that is allowed to escape is completly replaced by sewage and toxic waste.

It's a serious case. If you take action you will have alot of blessings on your head :)

Meatfree monday

The daughters of the ex-beatle Paul McCartney got an idea one day to introduce to the world the concept of "meatfree monday"¨(click to see), and with the help of their pop the project was launched. Now it has made it all the way into swedish schools, communes and other establishments.

There are some opinons that one meatfree day a week propaganda would mean that the other 6 days are justified. Well, Gothenburg was not built in a day, and i believe that this is a suggestion that makes it possible to grind in the vegetarian ideal in a bigger scale (as already seen). I find it interesting that there always is someone who complains and finds faults with others efforts, especially when the efforts has been successful in many ways. Consciousness changes gradually, training must be there, and one day a week on an international level for sure is gonna  have someone ask; "what's the reason for this idea? why they want me to not eat meat?"

The spoonrevolution is behind this project and are launching meatfree monday spoon activism every monday. Please get in contact with our Gothenburgian spoonrevolution office and join in. There are unlimited ways of raising awareness, take the chance, have fun, use your imagination and change someones heart. 

Ban on Bhagavad Gita in Russia dismissed

In Russia (Siberia) powers from the church wanted to ban the Bhagavad Gita with the charges that it inspires to terrorism. This caused an uproar in the Indian parlament and of course several protests around the world. The Nimai-gang were there in one such protest in Berlin some days after Christmas. The small repotage above was made by Querio - a spoonrevolution commune of conscious artists who have visited Nimaihuset some years ago. 

Recently the case was dismissed by the court and Bhagavad Gita was freed of all charges.

Saturday feast will be in english as usual, BUT this time the speaker actually have english as his mother tounge. His name is Subal prabhu and he will share his wisdom with us. Come at 17:00 and after the kirtan there will be the class and as usual we expect delicious sacred foodstuffs after :)
