Knowledge of the soul?
SV: Idag har jag mkt att göra och hinner tyvärr inte översätta dagens blog :/ men om du är väldigt ivrig, skall jag översätta den ikväll. Lämna en "begäran" som kommentar...
ENG: Yesterday, me and Shyamananda visited "Fässbergsgymnasiet" to represent the whole Hindu religion. At first we were invited to the aula where there was a "panel discussion" between a chistian, a jew and a moslem (no hindu representative were invited). We got to sit among the 2nd graders in the audience and one teacher presented that this day was the memorial day of the killing of jews by the nazis .
Before the actual "discussion" there was one speech given by Gillis Edman, a funeral entrepreneur. He was a very good speaker and caught the attention of all the audience. Usually, when you speak publicly, you must be ready to be questioned afterwards about the validity of your words. Since the chance was not given in the aula I take my chance here on the blog to analyse the "points" made in the speech:
What gives meaning to life? What is it all about? Gillis explained that life is a bridge between birth and death and there, in between, we have meetings, human meetings and in some rare moments even love and that this is what we should fill our life with. To illustrate this he explained about how he got his dog that became his close friend. It was a lengthy description of the wonderful qualities of the dog. He described how when he was passing the "hotdog"kiosk the dog became enthusiastic and stood up looking in towards the food and how he convinced Gillis to also get a "hotdog". And there in the kiosk was a young beautiful girl that Gillis made a move on, so there was a human meeting! wow
So at this point me and Shyama was wondered and impressed but the dense covering of Maya (illusion) that was displayed here. Imagine a 15 min description of his wonderful relationship with the dog, and then go and eat a "hotdog". Love the dog and screw the pig. What is this love? I dare to question this love, from an objective/ideal perspective. If we want to fill our lives with love we have to deserve it. We cannot steal the life of others and call it love. To sponsor the Aushwitz for millions of animals all around the world and then to stand up and speak about love in front of a big audience. Only in Sweden 80 million animals are killed EVERY YEAR. Thats alot of individuals and NOT ONE wanted to die. We encroach on their interest, on their very right to existence. And it is not that we are merciful that brought them to life, then we could call our selves merciful when breeding small black children to serve us as slaves. It´s not nice. It´s not love. It´s dense darkness.
Anyway, after this we had the chance to speak in the library with the kids for two hours. Hopefully there was one or more that could appreciate the knowledge about the soul but at least there must have been some new vegetarians :D
Goura premanande
Big thanks to the teachers that invited us. But next time we want to be in the "Panel", it's after all 1000000 (1/6th) people on this earth that follows the precepts of dharma (in different grades) and to not let them be represented is a little awkward for the organizers.
