EN: I noticed something special when I looked into our incense bowl one morning in the temple room. One incense stick had the shape of a sannyas staff. In the vedic culture, sannyas is when one takes a vow to stay as a monch or nun for the rest of his or her life. A person in that order of life is called a Sannyasi (male) or Sannyasini (female). When a man takes this vow he receives a sannyas danda (staff). The staff is shaped as an axe, meant for cutting the head of illusion. This I was happily reminded of looking into the incense bowl. All glories to all the sannyasis and sannyasinis! Haribol! Always speak the truth and always chant the name of God. This is the joyous path of love.
SV: Jag noterade något speciellt när jag såg vår rökelseskål i tempelrummet en morgon. En rökelsesticka hade formats som en sannyas-stav. I den vediska kulturen innebär sannyas att man tar ett löfte att stanna som munk eller nunna för resten av sitt liv. En person i den livsordningen kallas Sannyasi (manlig) eller Sannyasini (kvinnlig). När en man tar detta löfte får han en sannyas-danda (stav). Staven är formad som en yxa, menad att hugga huvudet av illusionen. Detta blev jag lyckligt påmind av när jag såg rökelseskålen. All ära till alla sannyasis och sannyasinis! Haribol! Tala alltid sanningen och sjung alltid Guds namn. Detta är kärlekens glädjefyllda väg.
