Commentary to the Maha Mantra

by Gurudeva Srila Bhakti Aloka Paramadvaiti Maharaj

Oh you most dear to the infinite enchanter
this sinner longs for your service far above.
Only this Krishna, your beloved Krishna
You alone can grace me with his love

Queen of Vrindavana, so much love for you has Rama
I have come to you now begging for your grace.
Because his love for you is endless he never denies your wishes
Yours is my soul in eternities embrace

  1. Haribol!

In fact, I was discussing this poem with Guru Maharaj in one occasion some years ago, when he asked me to compose music to it (song number four on the AVATAR album), and he explained to me that it is not RAMA who loves Srimati Radharani, it is RAMAN, which is one of Sri Krishna's names.

    Jay Sri Radhe!

    1. Haribol dear Manah Shiksha Mataji
      Dandavat Pranams

thank you very much for pointing out! you are right ofcourse.
I kept it so to keep the rhyming and as in the Maha Mantra itself it is indeed Rama, whome the poem is a commentary of...

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Sri Sri Radha Raman ki Jay!
      wonderful Avatar Album ki Jay!

      your servant
      brahma samhita das

  2. Manah-siksa's translation:
    Queen of Vrindavana

    Radhika, Radhika, Radharani, Radhe Radhe

O dearmost One of the Infinite Enchanter,
this sinner for Your service longs
Only for Krishna, Your most beloved Krishna,
You can give me love for Him alone

O dearmost One of the Infinite Enchanter,
    O sweetest beloved of Govinda

Queen of Vrindavana, so much Ramana loves You!
Your grace I come to implore
Due to His love, nothing He denies You
For eternity my soul is Yours

  3. here is the original version of Gurumaharaj:

“Oh, la más Querida del Encanto infinito,
    Tu Servicio anhela este pecador,
sólo de Krishna, de Tu amado Krishna,
    puedes Tú darme Su amor

Reina de Vrindavana, tanto Te ama Rama,
    Tu gracia vengo a implorar,
por tanto amarte Él no Te niega nada,
Tuya es mi alma por la eternidad”.
